We are excited to announce our 8th nonpartisan Democracy Town Hall—this time with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet. Senator Bennet is a former businessman, U.S. deputy attorney general 1995-1997, former superintendant of the Denver Public Schools and has served in the U.S. Senate since 2009.
Our event will focus on the candidate's positions on issues relating to our Republic's democracy, including:
-
Voting rights & Voter Suppression
-
Modernizing voting
-
Public funding of elections
-
Gerrymandering & Fair Voting Districts
-
Citizens United & Dark Money
-
A 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
-
SuperPACs and the LLC Loophole
-
Federal Elections Commission & IRS Enforcement
-
The “Revolving Door” of Legislator-to-Lobbyist influence
-
The Electoral College & Winner-take-all elections
-
Ranked Choice Voting
-
And other democracy-related questions you might ask.
As a nonpartisan event, we ask that you keep partisan rhetoric to a minimum. Preserving our Republic by fixing our democracy is something we can all agree on!
