We are excited to announce our 9th nonpartisan Democracy Town Hall Series event, and we welcome businessman and philanthropist Tom Steyer.    Mr. Steyer is founder and former co-senior-managing partner of Farallon Capital, and co-founder of OneCalifornia Bank (now Beneficial State Bank), a community development bank.     Mr. Steyer is also founder of NextGen America, a nonprofit which works on climate action, among other issues.

The event takes place on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 6 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 58 Lowell St., Nashua, NH 03064


Our event will focus on the candidate's positions on issues relating to our Republic's democracy, including:

  • Voting rights & Voter Suppression

  • Modernizing voting

  • Public funding of elections

  • Gerrymandering & Fair Voting Districts

  • Citizens United & Dark Money

  • A 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

  • SuperPACs and the LLC Loophole

  • Federal Elections Commission & IRS Enforcement

  • The “Revolving Door” of Legislator-to-Lobbyist influence

  • The Electoral College & Winner-take-all elections

  • Ranked Choice Voting

  • And other democracy-related questions you might ask.

As a nonpartisan event, we ask that you keep partisan rhetoric to a minimum. Preserving our Republic by fixing our democracy is something we can all agree on!

This Democracy Town Hall series is hosted by Open Democracy Action and Equal Citizens, and is sponsored by Leadership Now Project, New Hampshire Independent Voters, NH Labor News, FairVote, NH Ranked Choice Voting, Fix It America, The Committee for Ranked Choice Voting, NH Voters Restoring Democracy, Stamp Stampede, American Promise, UU Action of NH, Take Back Our Republic, Protect Democracy, and Common Cause.
